So I’m going to get a bit vulnerable with you. I was feeling some massive burnout these last 2 months. When I started this journey of becoming a comic book writer and publisher, I didn’t fully realize how much there was to it. I find myself constantly working on marketing, fulfillment, conventions and TAXES!!! Add a regular 9 to 5 on top of all that.  I really just want to be creative and make cool stuff.  So I took some time this week to recharge. It helped a lot. This quote from Dr. Maya Angelou really describes how I feel now.

“You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have”

So if you are feeling a bit worn down, I hope you can take a few days for yourself to reflect and get creative.

Comic Convention Chronicles

In the last 2 months I’ve tabled at 4 Comic Conventions.  I’ve learned a few things:

1. Every con isn’t for everybody. There are so many different fandoms it’s hard to keep up with all. I definitely need to get better at picking ones that align with Terminus Veil.

2. More isn’t necessarily better. Because I did those 4 so close together I feel like I didn’t have time to really make them all an event. I want to make these feel special for comic book lovers who dig Terminus Veil. So I’ll be doing less in the future.

3. Awesome Con is awesome. We had a really good time in D.C. and there are some real indie comic fans out there. We even saw a few Kickstarter backers. I’ll definitely be back in the DMV!

How did I recharge?

To get back to my energetic state, I decided to watch what everyone was raving about X-Men 97.  And I got to say it was worth it. Damn they made Cyclops a beast in it. No pun intended.  I’ve also caught up on a few comics like Ultimate Black Panther, We only find them when their dead and Ultimate Invasion.  We only find them when their dead was recommmended to me by our editor and comic book publisher, Akira Brown.
